Tips on How to Keep Germs Away From Your Toothbrush

If you want a strong and successful oral health, it’s best to clean your smile each day with a clean and pristine toothbrush. However, it may be tough to keep your toothbrush clean because there are millions of germs and bacteria longing to live on its bristles. So, to help you keep your toothbrush in tip-top shape, our Smiles Dental team recommends doing the following things:

-Wash your hands with soap and warm water before and after brushing your teeth.

-After you complete the brushing job, rinse your brush with warm water and store it upright so it can dry.

-Don’t cover your toothbrush bristles until they are completely dry. This is important because a moist environment is a breeding ground for bacteria.

-Only use a completely dry toothbrush.

-Don’t share your toothbrush with anyone, and make sure you don’t store your brush in a place where it can touch other toothbrush bristles.

-Replace your toothbrush after three or four months of use and always replace it after you have been sick.

-If you are sick, make sure you use a separate tube of toothpaste from everyone else so you don’t spread germs. It’s best to use a travel-sized tube.
